The sixteenth Science Council of Asia Conference on 'Science for the People: Mobilizing Modern Technologies for Sustainable Development in Asia' will be held from May 30-June 1, 2016 at Hotel Galadari, in Colombo.
The Conference is being sorted out mutually by the National Academy of Sciences of Sri Lanka (NASSL) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) of Sri Lanka.
The Science Council of Asia (SCA) was shaped in May 2000 to help the locale all the more effectively address the assorted and earnest science-related issues regular to Asian nations, including populace issues,
medicinal consideration, nourishment, water, vitality, and information of and training in the sciences.
The yearly SCA gathering is hung on a rotational premise so that every part nation/district can effectively take an interest in and add to the SCA.
Under the fundamental subject of Mobilizing Modern Technologies for Sustainable Development in Asia, the sixteenth gathering will investigate three sub topics.
- Opportunities in preparing Biotechnology, Information Technology, Nanotechnology and Renewable Energy Technologies for National Development.
- Social Dimensions of these advancements: Challenges confronted by Asia in their misuse, Risks from applying the advances, Protection and safeguarding of social legacy.
- Climate Change: Mitigation of and Adaptability to the Impact of Climate Change, Sustainable Development for Built Environment, Prevention of Natural Disaster.
The Conference will concentrate on all ranges of rising innovations, triumphs in their misuse for national improvement and for social welfare and the difficulties confronted in using them and how they can be succeed.
