Six-part Committee to test Youth Parliament exercises

A six part board of trustees headed by Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam was selected by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday (04) to test the exercises of the Youth Parliament and prescribe measures to be embraced by the administration for the advancement and welfare of the Sri Lankan youth era.

Alternate individuals from the board of trustees are National Policy and Economic Affairs State Minister Niroshan Perera,
Mahaweli and Environment Affairs Deputy Minister Anuradha Jayaratne, NYSC Chairman W.G.S. Erandika and the Speaker and the Prime Minister of the Youth Parliament.





The Prime Minister declared the arrangement of this board when he directed the introduction of the initially meeting of the third Youth Parliament at the Youth Parliament building at the Maharagama Youth Services Council premises yesterday. Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe who reported that Rs. 250 million had been distributed as financing for the exercises of the Youth Parliament one year from now, said the Youth Parliament ought to work in close joint effort with youth bunches from provincial level.

"Without precedent for Asia, two fundamental gatherings have held hands to set up a National Unity Government in Sri Lanka to outline a superior future for youth build up popularity based establishments and upgrade forces of Parliament," the Prime Minister said.
