Driving crosswise over Asia is a fantasy for a few car aficionados. Yet, for Rukshan Munesinghe and Manivannan this fantasy is to wind up a piece of their travelog.
The team, who started their 11,000-mile street trip from Kuala Lumpur on December 15, in a 1971 Ford Capri went to Colombo, Sri Lanka.
"This has been an energy of mine for some time now and I could restore this auto for this adventure. Also, by one means or another we figured out how to discover supporters.
Service of tourism, Malaysia, was helpful and empowering," says Rukshan Munesinghe, who runs MY Classic Cars.
The vintage auto fan is in the matter of restoring and offering great vintage autos, which is a corner business in Kuala Lumpur.
"It is deplorable to not see numerous works of art on the Indian streets," he said.
The twosome, who have extraordinary backing on online networking, post redesigns of their enterprises on "Companionship past fringes", a Facebook page.
"This trek has been bold and we've made a few associates along the way. The fringe security authorities in Assam were cordial and when our auto kept running into some inconvenience in Imphal, representatives at a workshop settled our apparatus box for nothing", Manivannan said. "We will probably advance peace and companionship," Munesinghe said. On its last leg, the Ford Capri went around Sri Lanka before coming to Colombo.
