Thirty six Sri Lankans have entered Syria covertly, BBC Sandeshaya says citing Sri Lankan barrier authorities.
Among them are kids and ladies, and they had made a guise that they were explorers on their approach to different nations, barrier secretary Karunasena Hettiarachchi said.
Some of them have joined the Islamic State, or IS, he said.
Hettiarachchi said he had no points of interest of their developments.
In the mean time, police representative Ruwan Gunasekara said he had no data that Sri Lankans had gone to Syria to join the IS.
'The Sunday Times' had beforehand reported that 45 individuals from nine families had left for Syria.
Likewise, Abu Shura Shailani, a 37-year-old from Galewela, had kicked the bucket in battling in Syria, media had reported.
