Icy war on for Army head of-staff position

An icy war is on for the position of the head of-staff of the Army taking after the Christmas Day retirement of Major. Gen. Jagath Dias, reports say.

Maj. Gen. Milinda Peiris is driving the contenders, in light of the fact that he had been denied the position twice, over Dias and Maj. Gen. Prasad Samarasinghe when the arrangement had been made beforehand.
From the heavily clad corps, he is because of resign on 11 August one year from now.





The Army is organizing individuals from the infantry regiment while filling this position.

Likewise in line for the position are Maj. Officers Sumedha Perera of the infantry regiment and Channa Gunatilake of the building corps, who unexpectedly are brothers by marriage.

Peers of Dias, Maj. Commanders Prasanna de Silva, Sumith Manawadu and Kamal Gunaratne are because of resign after coming to 55 years old.

Of the 46 serving significant commanders, 24 will achieve the retirement age one year from now.

Occupant Army boss Lt. Gen. Krishantha Silva is serving on an expansion given by the president and will resign on August 21.
