Diplomat Thomas Shannon, Counselor of the Department of State, will touch base in Sri Lanka on December 14, the US State Department said. He will be touching base in the island taking after an excursion to Bangladesh.
Shannon will be joined by Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Desai Biswal in Bangladesh and Deputy Assistant Secretary for South Asia Manpreet Singh Anand in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
In Bangladesh, Ambassador Shannon will meet with senior government and parliamentary pioneers, and in addition media, common society, and work agents, and will visit a USAID-financed human services center.
His excursion will highlight the quality and strength of the U.S.- Bangladesh relationship and proceeded with additions to be made in security, exchange, improvement, nature, and countering vicious radicalism.
In Sri Lanka, Ambassador Shannon will meet with senior government and parliamentary pioneers, business pioneers, and common society, and in addition visit a USAID-subsidized vocations venture in the Eastern Province. Amid his visit, Ambassador Shannon will reaffirm U.S. support for Sri Lanka's change plan and investigate more prominent collaboration being developed, security, financial development, and territorial availability.
