Japan gives Rs. 275 m sustenance help

The Government of Japan will give sustenance stipend help to the estimation of 240 million Japanese Yen (roughly Rs. 275 million) to the Government of Sri Lanka through the World Food Program (WFP) to bolster their continuous crisis program in Sri Lanka including the School Meals Program.

The sustenance's circulation help will be directed by the Government of Sri Lanka.
From 2012 to 2014, the Government of Japan gave nourishment stipend help adding up to 500 million Japanese Yen to the Government of Sri Lanka through the WFP so as to support the Schools Meals Program.





Great nourishment is a central point in the physical and mental development of youngsters and supporting this project is of much significance to the welfare of Sri Lanka's future era.

Under this nourishment stipend help, Japan will give canned fish made in the ranges crushed by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, which meets security necessities, helping significantly the nearby individuals there.

The award help will be commonly advantageous to both Japan and Sri Lanka. Japan trusts this help would reinforce the long-standing kinship between our two nations.

The consenting to of the award arrangement occurred in Rome on October 08 between Kazuyoshi Umemoto, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Italy and Ramiro Lopes Da Silva, Assistant Executive Director, UN World Food Program.
