Jaffna Fishermen Seek Arrest Of Tamil Nadu Trawlers

Fifteen anglers' associations of the Jaffna promontory on Wednesday sorted out a walk and a rally needing the Sri Lankan government to keep trawlers from Tamil Nadu which poach in Lankan waters. The anglers walked through Jaffna city and sat on a dharna before the Indian Consulate General.

Their pioneers displayed an update to the Consul General, A Natarajan.
They requested that the Indian government guarantee that Indian anglers don't poach in North Lankan waters and deny neighborhood Tamil anglers of their work, which has been resuscitated following 30 years of interruption because of war.

Notwithstanding the 15 Tamil Nadu anglers and two pontoons confined a couple of days prior, the Lankan naval force on Wednesday captured six anglers and two vessels from Nagapattinam for unlawfully angling in Lankan waters. They will be created under the steady gaze of the Kayts court. The 15 anglers and two vessels from Nagapattinam which had been kept before, were remanded till October 6 by the court at Point Pedro, Indian Consul General Natarajan told Express.
