A record of Sri Lanka's respectful war by Indian creator Samanth Subramanian was longlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize, Indian media said.
Subramanian's book This Divided Island is among the 12 books longlisted for the £20,000 worth prize whose shortlist will be reported in October amid the London Literature Festival and the victor in November, distributers Penguin Random House said in an announcement on Tuesday.
"The book tracks the ascent of activist Buddhism, driven by minister government officials who hold remarkable, great feelings," distributers said.
One of United Kingdom's most prestigious honor for genuine, the Samuel Johnson prize is interested in writers of all true to life books in current issues, history, governmental issues, science, game, travel, memoir collection of memoirs and expressions of the human experience.
Subramaniun won the 2010 Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize for his first book of account true to life Following Fish: Travels around the Indian Coast, which was likewise shortlisted for the 2013 Andre Simon Prize.This year's judging board is led by the Pulitzer prize-winning history specialist Anne Applebaum
