Adapt report to CB fund board

As the disagreement about the Central Bank senator position debilitates the legislature, the reviewer general's report into the matter is to be submitted to the bank's account board, say government sources.

Arjun Mahendran is making endeavors to depict the report, asked for by COPE, as a false one, lankatruth.com site reports.

Be that as it may, at a capacity in Colombo yesterday (30), PM Ranil Wickremesinghe said any wrongdoing by Mahendran was yet to be demonstrated.
Mahendran's term finished yesterday, however he has not been given an expansion, or another senator designated.





Convener of the National Movement for a Just Society Prof. Sarath Wijesuriya said they had been told by the president that another senator would be designated inside the following 24 hours from yesterday evening.

The CB senator position stayed empty for five days until Mahendran touched base from Singapore to take up the position, after Ajith Nivard Cabraal surrendered not long after the new government took office on January 08 a year ago.
