The local cricket competition in light of the new city-based household structure has been deserted, inward reports from 'Sri Lanka Mirror' say.
Previous cricket chief Mahela Jayawardene has led the making of the idea which was displayed a year ago to the then SLC interval advisory group and also before President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime priest Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The groups were based out of five territorial center points and the idea was proposed in an offer to decentralize Sri Lanka's
cricket from Colombo, and distil ability to guarantee a sterner level of household rivalry.
Thilanga's option
The idea has been scrapped after it was proposed to hold a common cricket competition on SLC Chairman - Thilanga Sumathipala.
It is said that a five-part choice board delegated by Sumathipala has as of now picked five groups of 18 players to hold this competition.
More matches
This four-day competition is to start from Jan. 26. Be that as it may, the last match of the club-based T20 competition is to end on Jan. 24.
Then again, specialists of the field say this would imply that players of the national group will need to play constantly in a few rivalries.
A national player who had played in the club T20 competition will have the common competition, the Indian visit from Feb. 06, the Asian Cup from Feb. 24 and the T-20 World Cup from March.
