President Sirisena lands in Malta

President Maithripala Sirisena landed in Malta Thursday morning (Nov. 26) to go to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) – 2015, to be held at Fort St. Angelo in Birgu from November 27-29. He was joined by Madam Jayanthi Sirisena and a few authorities.

President Sirisena, who is the present Chair-in-Office in the Commonwealth, was gotten at the Malta International Airport by senior authorities of Malta Government and the Commonwealth.
The President is to hand over the position of Chair in Office of Commonwealth to the Prime Minister of Malta Mr. Joseph Muscat.





In the mean time the Finance Minister of Malta, Edward Scicluna declared the foundation of another Commonwealth reserve activity for giving Trade Financing Facility to littler individuals from the Commonwealth. Four nations – Sri Lanka, India, Mauritius and Malta joined this asset activity.

Pastor Scicluna said this stride was taken as a piece of the proposition put forth in the Kotte Expression issued toward the end of the Colombo CHOGM 2013.The Statement proposed to create down to earth measures to elevate exchange streams to address the issue.
