The 'Professional Training in the North and East of Sri Lanka' (VTN) task is a reciprocal participation between the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Federal Republic of Germany.
The venture is actualized by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (German Development Bank - KfW) for the benefit of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The undertaking is co – subsidized by the State Secretariat for Migration of the Government of Switzerland. The Sri Lankan legislative accomplice is the Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training.

The introduction, held at the District Vocational Training Center in Kanthale, was graced by His Excellency Heinz Walker - Nederkoorn, The Ambassador of Switzerland to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Eng (Dr) Lionel Pinto, Chairman of the Vocational Training Authority (VTA), and Ms. Kumudhini Rosa, Senior Advisor of GIZ VTN Project.
The GIZ VTN task is intended to enhance interest situated professional instruction and preparing in the North and East of Sri Lanka. The educational program covers Electrical, ICT, Beauty society, Bakery, Aluminum creation, Welding and Tailoring courses with an emphasis on English for up to 160 understudies in the both focuses.
